Florida Gas Racing Series Race #2
FLORIDA GAS SERIES RACE #2
Very special thanks to the Space Coast Rudder Busters for allowing us to host our Florida Gas Racing Series race held on Sunday August 17th at their club lake, Sarno Lake in Melbourne, Fl. The race was held the Sunday before Tropical storm FAY hit Florida so it was the last day of beautiful sunny weather we had for almost one week.
John Taggart was the CD for the race and did a fine job. Scoobey Meltcher was the Asst CD and Bob Wagner served as scorer and turn judge. Their great teamwork kept the race running smooth and at a good pace. Thanks to all of our members who also assisted with the race.
Even though their was a High Points District Race scheduled the following weekend, we still had 14 racers running a total of 24 boats in 5 classes. We had two racers join us for the first time - Bernard Behlok and Ernie Roper. We look forward to seeing them again soon.
There was great racing all day, and we had a couple racers get perfect scores - Joe Rivard in GX1 Sport Hydro and Tammy Farrow in Thunderboat.
